Yhdysvalloissa julkaistiin tiistaina maaliskuun alussa järjestettävän Oscar-gaalan ehdokkaat. Eniten ehdokkuuksia sai Brokeback Mountain, joka on ehdolla kahdeksassa sarjassa.
Tämän vuoden muita menestyjiä ovat ainakin ehdokkuuksien määrällä mitattuna Crash ja Good Night And Good Luck, jotka saivat molemmat kuusi ehdokkuutta. Munchen, Walk The Line ja Capote saivat nekin viisi ehdokkuutta.
Oscar-gaala nähdään Suomessa suorana lähetyksenä Nelosella varhain maanantaiaamuna 6. maaliskuuta kello 00:30 alkaen. Lähetyksen suomalaisesta selostuksesta vastaavat Mikko Silvennoinen, Mikko Aromaa ja Outi Broux. Palkintojenjako alkaa noin kolmelta aamyöllä Suomen aikaa.
Alla on lista tämän vuoden kaikista ehdokkaista. Listalta puuttuu siis suomalainen Äideistä parhain, jota ei tulla odotuksista huolimatta näkemään mukana Oscar-mittelössä.
